jason Seizer
Saxophonist/composer Jason Seizer (b. 1964 Stuttgart, Germany) grew up in a family where music was an integral part of home life; he began playing flute and recorder at the age of four and over the next years won several classical music competitions. After being captivated by John Coltrane’s Ballads album, Seizer took up saxophone at the age 23. He studied with Ferdinand Povel at Hilversum University in Holland, then migrated to New York to study with several prominent jazz saxophonists, including Joe Lovano and Ralph Moore. Seizer has worked as bandleader and as sideman with such quality players as Pablo Held, Rick Hollander, John Marshall, Bobby Burgess Big Band Explosion, Walter Lang, Peter Bernstein, Bill Stewart, Dusko Goykovic, Maria Schneider, and is artistic director and sound engineer at Pirouet Records.
