Guitarist/composer Peter O’Mara (b.1957 Sydney, Australia) studied with George Golla before moving on to the Sidney Conservatory of Music. Upon receiving a fellowship, he moved to New York in 1981 to study with, among others, Attila Zoller and John Scofield. O’Mara moved to Munich, Germany in late ’81. Along with working with such major musicians as Kenny Wheeler, John Taylor, Charlie Mariano, and Randy Brecker, O’Mara was a member of Klaus Doldinger’s Passport from 1990 until 2014. In addition to having written several highly acclaimed books on music, O’Mara teaches at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts and the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, Austria.
